Getting to grips with your modern bridge camera

The SLT digital cameras are a significant technological milestone, they BRIDGE between the familiar compact camera, and the big beasts of the DLSR ranges. The “SLT” stands for Single Lens Translucent, and these cameras are genuinely innovative with powerful new processors in their compact bodies, combined with the “fatter and faster” lens associated with DSLRs.
This new course is designed for the owners of such cameras, who will therefore probably be familiar with the Sony, Panasonic, and Olympus SLT ranges. You will learn how to work with the new technologies, combining the powerful features so that you can capture creative images.
We will get to grips with the ergonomics and layout of these exciting cameras.
We will identify the key controls, and default controls to personalise your camera.
We will explore the creative controls and menu systems to improve picture taking.
We will learn to use the information displays and EXIF data to support lifelong learning.
We will study what makes a “good picture”, and investigate composition and manipulation.
